Nobody remembers how it all started, but it was about thirteen
years ago. I can’t go on living in this constant fear. They lurk in the shadows
waiting for the slightest mistake. We need to stop running. We need to fight
back.
You have a very cool title and perspective. I have to grade student papers all the time, and I do worry that too many corrections can make kids feel this way. (On the other hand, I sometimes hear from parents that I don't mark up enough if I leave some errors without comments.)
There's a fine line I think. Too much correction can turn someone off from writing. Too little and they will look like an idiot when they start sending emails at work. I'm lucky enough to have a few kind Grammar Police in my life. I think they make me better if for no other reason than to not have to hear them correct me. :-)
Occupy Grammar! What a unique direction you took this prompt. Nice job!
ReplyDeleteGreat thought on this one! The picture really completes it :-)

DeleteVery unique!
ReplyDeleteI love the mood you've created, sly and sinister. Those last two lines are perfect.
ReplyDeleteThose darn Grammar police! Makes me want to drop a conjugate just for spite.
ReplyDeleteYeah... I have no idea what that means. Haha.
DeleteHow original and the title and picture complement it well.
ReplyDeleteVery unique!!
ReplyDeleteHow would the War with the Grammar Police be fought? With dangling participles and split infinitives?
ReplyDeleteCould I see your license and registration, Ma'am?
ReplyDeleteHehehe
*retreats, lurking, to the shadows*
This made me laugh right out loud! Thank you for the giggle!
ReplyDeleteYou're most welcome. I am glad you enjoyed it.
DeleteI kept looking to see if you made any grammatical mistakes! A singular take on the prompt. Love it.
ReplyDeleteI was toying with leaving off the final punctuation. :-)
